Feather Touch Tattooing (Microblading)

Feather Touch tattoos involve the use of a micro-blade to create fine hair-like strokes to achieve a more full and defined brow – rather than delivering solid patches of pigment. Results fade gradually, lasting 6-18 months. To maintain freshness, a touch-up is recommended every 12 months. Feather Touch tattoos are subtle, natural-looking, and make your morning makeup routine a breeze.

FEATHER TOUCH IS NOT SUITABLE FOR CLIENTS WITH OILY SKIN, ROSACEA OR ON BLOOD THINNERS.

OMBRE BROWS

OMBRE BROWS

Combo & Ombre (Powder) Brows

Combo Brows - This technique combines feather touch tattoo and ombre shading lasting 1-2 years. Feather strokes are used at the bulb (front) of the brow and then ombre shading throughout the rest of the brow.

Ombre Brows - also known as powder Brows, is a technique that creates a shaded in brow look. It gives great definition & depth to the eyebrows and can be as soft or as dramatic as you like. This technique lasts for 1-2 years.

What Is The Difference Between Feather Touch + Ombre Brows?

One of the main difference between the 2 techniques is how the pigment is deposited into the skin. Feather Touch uses a handheld tool (micro-blade) to create incisions into the skin, whereas Ombre brows are done using a machine.

How Does EDC Achieve My Shape?

EDC believes in working with your natural brow shape as much as possible. Your brows will be mapped out and measured to achieve a symmetrical looking set of brows. REMEMBER: your brows are sisters not twins. Tattooing will not begin until you are are fully happy with the shape and outline.

How Does EDC Pick My Tattoo Colour?

EDC has an extensive range of colour options. Colours are selected based on your brow hair colour and your skin tone. Colours can be mixed to find the perfect colour that’s unique for you.

Is Tattooing Painful?

Some clients may experience stinging or some discomfort. Every client will have their own pain threshold so it is best to come mentally prepared. EDC takes all measures to ensure you are as comfortable as possible.

Do you tattoo over other technicians work/exisiting tattooing?

Yes, but ONLY if previous work is faded enough. To find out if your brows are faded enough email clear images (natural daylight and not front camera) to hello@elliedunnecollective.com. Once your brows are ready to be re-done full prices apply.

In order to avoid excessive bleeding and poor colour deposit

  • Strictly avoid alcohol, smoking, caffeine and fish oil up to 7 days before your appointment. This is HIGHLY recommended as this will affect your final result.
  • The reasoning behind these recommendations is to avoid excessive bleeding durning the treatment. Excessive bleeding results in the probability that your new brows potentially won’t heal as well as it could and may nit last as long a they should.
  • Please minimise your water intake up to 3 hours before your your appointment.

What not to do before your appointment

  • Do not pick , tweeze, wax or tint your brows two weeks prior to the treatment.
  • Do not sun tan two weeks prior or have sunburned face.
  • Do not have a spray tan
  • Do not have any type of facials or peels two weeks prior to treatment.
  • Discontinue vitamin A/Retinol products one month prior to treatment and two weeks after treatment - Do not use AHA skin care products one month prior to treatment and two weeks after treatment.
  • Do not work out day of the procedure.
  • Do not have Botox inserted to any areas above your mouth 3 weeks prior.
  • Do not have fish oil or vitamin E one week prior.
  • Do not discontinue any medication before consulting a doctor.
  • IPL hair removal should be performed no less than 2 weeks prior to your enhancement.
  • Keep alcohol and smoking intake to a minimum of 24 hours prior to your enhancement (if you choose not to avoid it for the 7 recommended days).

Healed Results

  • This procedure requires patience as true results are not revealed until 4-6 weeks after the first tattoo session and another 4-6 weeks post your perfecting session.
  • Please be mindful that all skin types heal differently and we have no control over this. Any desired changes after the 6 weeks can be discussed with your technician at the perfecting session.
  • Please be mindful to be 100% happy with your brow tattoo before leaving the salon. Have a thorough look at your brows and it’s totally okay to ask any questions or concerns you may have.
  • Please make sure you have read the aftercare thoroughly and follow the instructions provided to you.

What to expect during the healing process

Day 1: I love my perfect new brows! They feel a little sore and tingling
Day 2-5: Oh no, they’re too dark and thick! They feel itchy (DO NOT ITCH)
Day 5-10: They’re the wrong shape and they’re flaking off
Day 10-15: Parts of tattoo have disappeared or faded substantially
Day 15-30: Tattoo will reappear but may look patchy Touch up day: perfecting session, perfect new brows again yay!

What is the aftercare for your new tattoo brows

The healing my take up to 21 days following your first tattoo appointment.
PROTECT with aftercare balm for 14 days
DO NOT participate in any activities for 7 days that may cause your body temperature to increase. This includes low intensity exercise.
DO NOT wet your brows or use any other products on the tattoo area for 14 days. NO soaps, cleaners, makeup or creams other than the aftercare cream provided for 2 weeks.
DO NOT use any AHA, retinol or exfoliating skin care products AT ALL for two weeks following the treatment. LIMIT any direct sunlight.
STRICTLY AVOID alcohol, caffeine (includes Coca Cola), energy drinks, any ingestible oils, any pain relief medication (only Panadol if necessary) or Vitamin E for the next 2 DAYS.
DO NOT donate blood for 12 months. This is a worldwide health regulation.

Long term looking after your brow tattooing

  • This varies between every individual due to skin type, diet, genetics and environmental factors, they all contribute to retention of pigment.
  • Sun exposure and swimming in chlorinated water will affect the tattoo pigment so avoid excessive exposure. Apply sunscreen to your brows also when in prolonged sun exposure. Can apply Vaseline to brows when swimming to protect them.
  • Be mindful of the ingredients (active ingredients) in your skincare as these may fade your tattoo. You still use these products just don’t apply them on or near your brows.
  • If you get IPL or laser treatments please advise your therapist that you have a brow tattoo and the tattoo must be covered to avoid fading.
  • It is important to remember that semi-permeant makeup is a ‘low’ not a ‘no’ maintenance treatment.
  • Maintaining the shape of your brows is important because it enhances the colour of your tattoo while keeping the precious in the shape. We recommend scheduling an appointment with your brow specialist for a brow style to maintain this shape.
  • Once the colour starts to fade you will notice and be ready for a colour refresher. On average people come back annually for touch ups.
